While eCommerce is developing in the business-to-business world, it's most commonly a channel used to collect consumer customer orders and where payment is almost always a credit card transaction.  Companies with Dynamics NAV will either have a 'NAV aware' integrated webshop (e.g. Sana eCommerce) or they'll have a separate webshop, designed specifically for their requirements.  In the latter case, integration is required to send item information to the webshop and to collect order and payment information back into Dynamics NAV.

Our solution includes a set of web services, providing you with out-of-the-box integration for Item Feeds, Web Order Collection and Payment Management.  Orders are picked and despatched in the same way, business to business.  Integration to third party logistic companies is common with this business model, which Dynamics NAV supports (subject to the third party of course), and with relevant web service integration for item information, as well as orders to fulfil, orders to receive, etc.

Dynamics NAV also manages the request for payment through the eCommerce site or directly with the payment provider, prior to shipping, if the payment wasn't taken with the order.  Payment information from the webshop is fed into Dynamics NAV with the capability to reconcile against the payment file received from the merchant. Most commonly the webshop manages the credit card interface, although this is also possible via NAV Card Integration facilities, which are country dependant.
