Today, over 165 years later, Everards Brewery remains a family run company with fifth generation family Chairman, Richard Everard at the helm. Everards have over 175 independently tenanted pubs, all located within a 70-mile radius of the Leicestershire brewery. The pubs vary from village inns to city centre venues and community locals. When their existing accounting system was due for an upgrade, Everards embraced the opportunity to evaluate their current and future needs. They wanted a solution that could integrate with their existing Microsoft estate and leverage their in-house skills. Everards also wanted a solution that could be tailored to the brewery sector and could keep pace with its ambitious expansion plans.

The combined solution of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Drink-IT has enabled Everards to optimise its entire value chain. The solution is used extensively throughout the business, including within sales, property management, warehouse and distribution, finance, accounting and tax management.
Today, the unified solution of Dynamics NAV and Drink-IT represents the core business system used across Everards. The NAV People have worked with the company to integrate its telesales system, with sales orders now being submitted directly in to NAV. Additionally, all customer contact information is managed and stored within Dynamics NAV and serves as the single source of truth for a number of other business systems within the company.

Upgrading The NAV People Way!
In 2015, after using Dynamics NAV for several years, Everards wanted to add features to their existing platform and extend the solution’s capabilities. They selected the nAblement Suite, a set of workflow and document management applications created by The NAV People and certified by Microsoft. This new software suite delivered some fantastic features and a very dedicated employee!
New employee nOra (an acronym for NAV Online Response Assistant), is a permanently logged-in user of Dynamics NAV, with access to her own email. nOra helps to make the process of workflow seamless and has proved invaluable.
When Everards migrated the Property Management department onto Dynamics NAV from their old solution, they were quickly able to train the team and deliver tangible business benefits through streamlining their practices. Previously, the property management team had to manually manage the purchase order approval, today the entire process is fully automated, nOra does it all!
Steve remarks: ‘We went live with the upgrade in October 2015 and the whole process went without a hitch. The NAV People were on site during the transition and were very proactive throughout the entire process. The solution we have today is seamlessly blended and immensely intuitive, it delivers a great user experience.’

Bringing data to life with Jet Reports
The system previously used by the Property Management department had limited reporting functionality which proved challenging to the team as they struggled to track budgets and manage costs. Since deploying Jet Reports, the department now has a clear view of accounts across the entire property portfolio.
Jet Reports is also used extensively within the Finance department for the reporting of management accounts and aged debt reports. It has simplified the reporting process and in many cases completely automated it.
Steve comments: ‘The finance team love how easy Jet Reports is to use, it has improved their day to day workload and they are fully self-sufficient on the solution. It has resulted in a significant improvement in the way we produce our reports.’
